A house between the accidental and the intentional
a self-initiated project

Concept:

The proposed project is created by overlapping discarded and used/ unused structural elements: worn steel profiles, massive wooden beams, cracked concrete walls and rusted virendel supports. Building material from unused, abandoned and dilapidated buildings can become a new ready-made element when designing new architectural structures. These elements differ greatly in their size and purpose, and they become input data for designing new architecture.

Input data

- steel profiles, filled - 5 cm x 5 cm

- circular steel profiles, filled, radius 2.5 cm

- H - steel profiles of load-bearing structures - height 25 cm

- I - steel profiles of load-bearing structures - height 25 cm

- C - steel profiles of load-bearing structures - height 25 cm

- T - steel profiles of load-bearing structures - height 25 cm

- fragments of reinforced concrete walls one floor high: height 3000 cm

- virendell girders (of bridge structures and architectural structures) of various dimensions: from 3000 cm in height to 6000 cm in height

- massive wooden laminated beams, filled - 20cm x 20cm

- wooden decking of variable dimensions

Framework for analyzing the data:

By overlapping the mentioned elements, between accidental and the intentional, each floor/layer will be placed on top of each other. Here is a suggested setup principle. With the constant changes in its scale and dimensions- from small and fragmented elements to large and inhabitable, new aspects of use are yet to be determined. The house can serve as a shelter with a variable function, but basically it presents a design principle, not a solution. It is based on today's aspirations for sustainability, recycling, social values, and ultimately correct and bold architectural intentions.

The results of the analysis:

The house is a structure and a tower.

The state of decay it is in has created a specific cave-like interior

It is equally accessible to humans and animals. The power of his composition suggests the strong force of nature and the inevitable presence of man.
