Iks house is a reconstruction of a typical vernacular existing house. It is intended for a young married couple. The reconstruction primarily refers to the redefinition of the first floor, while the ground floor remains relatively unchanged. The upper floor is designed to be bipolar; divided on the living and sleeping area. From the existing four-pitched roof, the cross-section is changed to a basilical one, with the central zone elevated in relation to the side ones. The floor plan is axially symmetrical. The living area is open, airy and full of light, with two loggias that enable an extended stay in the outdoor space. The sleeping area is more closed, but with carefully placed openings/windows. The facades follow the logic of the floor plan organization of the house.
